Job Description
The Senior FHA Underwriter reports to the President of Eastern Mortgage Capital, a MAP Lender, and is responsible for
Underwriting and closing FHA-insured loans pursuant to SOAs 223(f), 221(d)4, 223(a)7, 232, 232/223(f), and 241.
Interaction with HUD field offices, LEAN, and HUD Central as required.
Supervising an experienced Mortgage Analyst and a Processor.
Working with this, team normally underwrites and closes 8-12 loans per year.
Quality Control and compliance with HUD regulations for the business line
Required Skills
Thorough knowledge of FHA MAP and LEAN underwriting
Must be Approved MAP Underwriter; approval for LEAN underwriting strongly preferred.
Good knowledge of FHA-insured healthcare financing
Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal skills; strong service orientation; high standards of professionalism and ethics.
Good writing and financial analysis skills
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years experience with HUD MAP and LEAN underwriting
Appropriate levels of MAP and LEAN training
