Job Description:

Prudential Mortgage Capital Company (PMCC) is one of the nation’s leading providers of commercial mortgages on multifamily, retail, office, industrial, and hotel properties. The Company offers one of the most comprehensive lines of real estate finance products including fixed-rate, floating-rate and interim/bridge loans; Fannie Mae DUS and FHA lending; and mezzanine and affordable housing financing.

The FHA division of PMCC is seeking a Senior Underwriter. This position will report to the Chief Underwriter be located in Denver, Co( or has the flexibility of being based at any of the PMCC offices located throughout the country; i.e. Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, McLean, Newark, New York or San Francisco).

The incumbent is to provide or direct thorough underwriting analysis of FHA multifamily and healthcare insurance applications in conformance with FHA program requirements and sound underwriting standards resulting in FHA commitments and closed loans. Provide technical guidance and oversight to intermediate underwriter, junior underwriter and loan processor.

Job Requirements:

* Review and approve preliminary loan analyses and engagement letters prior to engagement of new loans.
* Schedule, direct and monitor the preparation and submission of assigned loans for FHA approval.
* Engage third party reports.
* Review third party reports for conformance with FHA standards Prudential requirements and negotiate adjustments as necessary.
* Prepare all FHA underwriting forms (92264, 92264A, etc.)
* Prepare all underwriting narratives.
* Coordinate, schedule and participate in site/project inspections.
* Schedule and coordinate the preparation and assemby of exhibits needed for each FHA commitment application; review for compliance with FHA underwriting program standards.
* Order and review credit reports, work with loan officer to resolve any problems.
* Perform mortgage credit analysis of borrower and project financial statements.
* Review FHA firm commitments for problems affecting closing. Prepare appeals and negotiate solutions with FHA and clients.
* Assist in Coordinate the FHA loan closing process and attend Closings as required.
* Review work of intermediate and junior underwriters for technical quality and provide training as necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position requires a BA degree or equivalent work experience. Incumbent is required to have at least four years experience in processing, analyzing and underwriting income property loans. Incumbent must exercise considerable judgement in evaluating complex financial, property and market information and applying it to the underwriting and program compliance questions at hand; identifies problems. Able to implement solutions to a wide range of potential underwriting and compliance problems utilizing excellent interpersonal skills. In addition to the above, incumbent must have computer knowledge and experience with word processing and financial spreadsheet software as well as excellent analytical, math and organization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.

MAP approval required for Multifamily, Section 232 Healthcare MAP approval a plus.
