Description Just Mortgage is looking for a FHA / DE Underwriter for our busy mortgage brokerage office located in Rancho Cucamonga. This position will handle all underwriting of loans, in accordance with the company and investor guidelines, to ensure quality loans. Candidate must be able to evaluate credit package and collateral for residential mortgage loans to insure an investment quality loan product. Must have an aptitude for figures and the ability to work effectively under specific time constraints.
We would like a candidate that has a minimum of 10 years mortgage banking experience with a minimum 5 years experience as a FHA / DE underwriter and have been actively underwriting government loans for the past 2 years. You must be knowledgeable in public and private investor guidelines. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Underwriting Manager, handles underwriting of loans in accordance with company and investor guidelines to ensure and approve quality loans.
Duties & Responsibilities :
* Review all mortgage applications and documentation for accuracy and completeness
* Completes thorough analyses of loan files to determine compliance with State, company, investor and FHA/Conventional guidelines.
* Evaluates credit package and collateral for residential mortgage loans to ensure an investment quality loan product.
* Verifies accuracy of all calculations.
* Maintains company productivity level and complies with designated turnaround time for underwriting of files.
* Communicates loan decisions to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing.
* Complies and provides required reports to management as needed.
* Responds to reviews and audits in a timely manner.
* Keeps JTrac updated as required.
* Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
* Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
* College Degree preferred
* Minimum of 5 years mortgage banking experience with a minimum of 2 years experience as an underwriter with solid working knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and FHA/VA underwriting guidelines, as well as familiarity with private investor and private mortgage insurance guidelines.

* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with branch, regional and corporate personnel.
* Demonstrated judgment and decision making ability.
* Aptitude for figures and ability to work effectively under specific time constraints.
